A proprietary ferrite core design with in the WE-CHSA family has an air gap that is “optimally centred to ensure a precisely defined saturation current”, claims the firm. The “air gap enables saturation currents up to 54A.” – Rated currents extend to 28A.
The package is magnetically shielded for low stray field, and the solder pads are designed for good co-planarity as well as good automatic optical inspection capability. Package sizes are 8 x 8 x 9mm, 10 x 10 x 11 or 12 x 12 x 12.
Operation is over -55 to +150°C.
For development, the complete series is available in a design kit.
“WE-CHSA is particularly suitable for applications such as in power-train control devices, in infotainment systems or in eMobility,” said Wurth.
Free samples are available via the product webpage, according to the company, and the choke is available from stock.
